Jan 2019 – Started my PhD at Dept. of Electrical, Computer, and Software Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, The University of Auckland, New Zealand with awesome Dr. Rashina Hoda. π₯³
Apr 2019 – Dr. Paramvir Singh joined as my co-supervisor. π€
Jun 2019 – Posted my first interview recruitment advertisement “everywhere”. I was super scared that I will not get any responses. Funny, got 16 responses within 2 days! π
Sept 2019 – My first poster at Exposure’19 Postgraduate research competition got selected to the final round! So happy! π¦Έπ»ββοΈ
Oct 2019 – After 7 rounds of revisions, submitted my first ICSE paper to the NIER track! π¦Έπ»ββοΈ
Nov 2019 – Got my PhD candidature confirmed. “This was more like a PhD defense” – Partha Roop, panelist said after 1.5 hours long seminar. π¦Έπ»ββοΈ
Nov 2019 – Said good bye to New Zealand. π
Jan 2020 – Joined HumaniSE Lab at Monash University, Australia with Rashina. Team got strong as the wonderful Prof. John Grundy became my co-supervisor. π¦Έπ»ββοΈπ¦Έπ»ββοΈπ¦Έπ»ββοΈ
Jan 2020 – ICSE NIER paper got accepted! I was over the moon! π€©
Jan 2020 – Submitted a paper to ICSE CHASE workshop. π¦Έπ»ββοΈ
Feb 2020 – ICSE CHASE paper got accepted! Two in a row!π€©
April 2020 – Submitted a paper to IEEE Software Special Issue on Behavioral Science for Software Engineering. π¦Έπ»ββοΈ
May 2020 – First paper rejection! IEEE Software paper got rejected. I was not sad. I was surprised why I was not sad. π§
May 2020 – I was supposed to present the two papers at ICSE in South Korea. Covid-19 pandemic stopped that. π©
June 2020 – I was supposed to attend the very first Human Aspects in Software Engineering Summer School in Sweden. Still the Covid-19 did it’s thing. Summer school got cancelled. π©
June 2020 – My first survey is out! Very excited! π¦Έπ»ββοΈ
June 2020 – Survey got crtiqued by a set of agile practitioners. That made us realize that there’s a gap between the research community and the industry and agile requirements engineering needs its own language. With these requirements, it was not possible to move forward with the current topic. Therefore, we changed the scope. π€―
June 2020 – Submitted the paper which got rejected by IEEE Software to FSE conference as a Visions paper. π¦Έπ»ββοΈ
June 2020 – I became the supervisor of a team of 4 final year Software Engineering students! This is my first experience in supervising! π¦Έπ»ββοΈ
July 2020 – Presented virtually at ICSE 2020! My very first experience! π¦Έπ»ββοΈ Almost cried after seeing the last announcement on CLOWDR. π
July 2020 – Updated survey is out again. π¦Έπ»ββοΈ
July 2020 – Previously rejected paper got rejected again. It was a weak reject. Reviewers loved the paper but they had to reject because we don’t have results (Paper is totally visionary). Did some minor tweaks and submitted again to a different venue. Waiting to see the luck of this paper. π π¦Έπ»ββοΈ
Aug 2020 – Finally the paper got accepted to Human Centric Software Engineering and Cyber Security workshop at ASE 2020! π¦Έπ»ββοΈ
Sept 2020 – I presented “Towards Better Understanding of Agile Teams through Behavior Change Models” at HCSE-CS workshop at ASE 2020. π¦Έπ»ββοΈ
Oct 2020 – I was appointed as the Publicity and Social Media Chair of ASE 2021! Kla will be chairing too. This is my very first experience in being a chair at a conference! π¦Έπ»ββοΈ
Nov 2020 – My students did a great job in their research project. I am really happy and proud! HDs! Scored the highest from the class – AU and MY! π¦Έπ»ββοΈ
